Retailers announced at our award-winning precinct
- 15/10/2020
We are thrilled to announce Melbourne Square has partnered with a mouthwatering selection of hospitality operators who will elevate the precinct experience on our podium, opening in mid-December.
The energetic new dine-in and takeaway options cover everything from fish and chips and pizza, to Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine and freshly baked bread.
They will of course also be complemented by Southbank’s first full-line supermarket, which will be operated by Woolworths.
Joining the new hospitality mix and Woolies is a new on-site office space for our dedicated precinct real estate agency MSQ Property which will be on-call to tend to client queries and assist with sales and leasing opportunities.
Below are some more details about the new Melbourne Square retail mix:
Early morning air around our lifestyle precinct will be filled with enticing aromas created by Espresso Bar – a premium baked pastries and barista-made coffeehouse overlooking our newly unveiled 3,745 square metre public park conceived by urban design specialist’s Taylor Cullity Lethlean (TCL).
Pizza Pantelleria will channel the moreish tastes of its Sicilian island namesake, boasting an indulgent woodfire pizza menu and fresh pasta options. An extensive list of local and international vinos will also be available at the restaurant suited to all price ranges and flavour profile preferences.
Fishmonger’s Theo's Fish Bar will make the Friday night takeaway classic possible every night for our residents and the Southbank community, serving up delicious fried and grilled seafood and other Australian classics – a perfect candidate for family dinners in our park or cruises down the Yarra River during summer.
Tho Tho Vietnamese Restaurant and Bar will open a new venue at Melbourne Square called Golden Bunny by Tho Tho. It will be the much-loved Southeast Asian institution's third eatery since opening its doors in Richmond’s cultural hub of Victoria Street in 1989.
Adding to the oriental flavours around the precinct is Waku Waku – an authentic Japanese eatery known for its flavour-packed soups and curry menu options suitable for all tastebuds.
Southbank locals looking to replenish their cellars and fridges, or wash down a takeaway meal from one of Melbourne Square’s eateries with a cool beverage can do so at a new BWS, which will open alongside the mix of new conveniences.
The new Woolworths supermarket will span two levels across the podium level of our lifestyle hub, becoming the first full-line supermarket in Southbank while bolstering an already hefty list of conveniences around the development.
Come mid-December, our new Melbourne Square family members will start opening for residents, locals and visitors to enjoy and we cannot wait for their doors to open!
