Settlement update
- 27/08/2020
After almost two years of construction, Melbourne Square has soared into its rightful place on our city skyline, its gleaming towers visible from many vantages.
From turning the first sod back in December 2017, it has been a smooth and steady journey to deliver the first stage of this award-winning precinct.
However, the latest COVID-19 restrictions have thrown a few bumps in our path that we now must navigate with our buyers, our residents and our community.
As we head towards completion we wanted to provide an update on settlements, particularly in light of the Victorian Government’s latest lockdown in Melbourne that has forced the closure of many workplaces and industries as our city strives to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
Construction on Melbourne Square has been forced to slow due to the latest Stage Four restrictions, which have restricted the number of workers permitted on site at any given time.
While our next round of settlements are still on track for mid to late September, unfortunately the final completion of Melbourne Square has been slightly delayed.
Due to the severe Stage Four restrictions, the full completion of stage one is now scheduled for late 2020.
Remaining apartments not scheduled for settlement in September/October will be handed over in December, and our planned Level 54 & Level 8 resident amenities are anticipated to open at the end of the year. This includes Woolworths and the Food & Beverage Retail, along with the Nido Childcare centre which is also anticipated to open at the end of the year.
While we are fortunate that these delays are not excessive, we are as disappointed about them as we know our purchasers and our residents are likely to be.
We appreciate your understanding during this time and we look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne Square soon.
We have reached out to our existing purchasers directly, for any further questions please contact us.
Stay well.
